This piece takes place after their final fight, and the underground castle is slowly falling apart afterthe elves’ defeat. Kai is accepting his fall, but Sieran goes to save him.
STEP 1: SKETCH
Rough sketch of Sieran and Kai falling. Rubbles are added to help give a sense of direction of the fall.
STEP 2: LINEART
Rough lines are drawn, with some reparation of the composition and anatomy.
STEP 3: COLORS
Base colors are applied, with warm colors being more prominent to emphasize the beauty of Sieran’s gesture towards Kai.
STEP 4: RENDER
Some colors are adjusted using layer modes and tone curves. The sky is rendered along with the sun and its flares. The underground castle crumbling to pieces is also added in the background.

The project is about a world where humans live among the supernatural. Driven by the search for his missing human mother, Sieran the witch, along with his cat familiar Mico and his best friend Fenri, abandon their peaceful city life to investigate the increasing cases of missing humans in the kingdom. Inspired by the growing popularity of Japanese RPGs, the character and environmental design for this project contains a lot of elements from the RPG world.
