For this piece, Kai has joined Sieran and Fenri’s side, and they are getting ready to fight their final battle in the dungeon.
STEP 1: SKETCH
STEP 2: LINEART
Rough lines are applied to the sketch, and a light source is determined. The light is emanating from the doorway behind them to produce a more dramatic scene.
STEP 3: COLORS
Base colors are applied. In order to catch the eerie atmosphere from the dungeon, cooler tones are chosen.
STEP 4: RENDER
Colors are adjusted for more contrast. More glow is added onto some areas like Mico’s body, and the characters’ eyes to provide more flair to the scene.

The project is about a world where humans live among the supernatural. Driven by the search for his missing human mother, Sieran the witch, along with his cat familiar Mico and his best friend Fenri, abandon their peaceful city life to investigate the increasing cases of missing humans in the kingdom. Inspired by the growing popularity of Japanese RPGs, the character and environmental design for this project contains a lot of elements from the RPG world.
For this piece, Kai, the Phoenix hired as an assassin, has joined Sieran and Fenri’s side as an attempt to rebel against the Elves, and they are getting ready to fight their final battle in the dungeon.
